Bio

I am originally from Gorey, Co. Wexford in the south east of Ireland, though having spent 12 years living in Cork, I have a deep affinity with the people and vibrant music scene there. Home is currently Villingendorf, a small village on the edge of The Black Forest in Germany.

Having spent my student years in Dublin studying philosophy, I moved to South Korea to teach English and had the good fortune to play with South Korean fusion band 2nd Moon. In 2005 we realeased our debut album and bagged 3 awards at the Korean Real Music Awards in 2006. After 5 years in Korea, I decided it was time to come home and I studied Music, Management & Sound for 3 years at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa in the beautiful city of Cork. In my years at CSN, I had the opportunity to work with many talented musicians and get to know more about the workings of the music industry.

In 2009 I released my first solo EP entitled The Orange Tree and in 2014, my debut album Paper Boat. I am immensely proud of that album and eternally grateful to Christian Best at Monique Studios Cork for producing it. In 2019 I released my second album Smoke Without a Fire, recorded live at The Hayti Heritage Centre, North Carolina. The stellar band of local musicians who played on the recording added their magic and with producer Dave Tilley of Bogue Sound Studios at the helm, I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience. I have had the immense privilege of performing extensively in my native land of Ireland, The UK, South Korea, Germany, Belguim, France, Czech Republic, Austria, Sweden, The Netherlands & The US. I’m extremely blessed to have had the support and encouragement of so many wonderful people and I thank you all for your endless support.

Much love to you and yours, Lynda
